Courses Offered
A list of classes offered is below including a brief description. Due to enrollment all classes may not be offered during each term. Please inquire with a counselor to see if the class you are interested in is available. For a more detailed description, please see the Course Description Booklet available in the counseling center.

Prerequisite for all foreign languages:  The student must have passing grades in English. In order to be successful in a foreign language, a student must be willing to commit to daily practice/study.

French I French I is an introduction to the French language and customs.  The four-fold emphases in the course are speaking, reading grammar, and culture toward the goal of creating a desire to "think" the language. Basic pronunciation, ear training, and spelling as well as reading units utilizing approximately 2,000 words of vocabulary, idiomatic expressions, and elementary grammar will be introduced.  A fee is required.
French II French II includes comprehension and usage of French at an intermediate level. All tenses of indicative are covered as well as an introduction to an extended training in composition, oral expression, and work recognition by cognates.  Students should continue to increase in vocabulary, reading, ear training, and idiomatic usage. Prerequisite: French I. A fee is required.
Spanish I Spanish I is an introduction to the Spanish language and customs which includes basic pronunciation, ear training, reading and simple composition. Students should develop the ability to read material of elementary grammatical and idiomatic difficulty using a basic 2,000 word vocabulary.  A fee is required.
Spanish II Spanish II extends training in composition, oral expression and aural recognition to include all tenses of the indicative and the active and passive voices. Students should develop comprehension and usage at the intermediate level. Prerequisite: Spanish I. A fee is required.
