Courses Offered
A list of classes offered is below including a brief description. Due to enrollment all classes may not be offered during each term. Please inquire with a counselor to see if the class you are interested in is available. For a more detailed description, please see the Course Description Booklet available in the counseling center.

Physical Science Survey course in chemistry and physics.
Honors Physical Science Designed to prepare students for future study in chemistry and physics. Emphasis placed on critical thinking, problem solving and manipulations of equations.
Biology Laboratory course designed for reinforcing the scientific approach's to investigating living thins and their relationship to non-living systems.
Biology Honors In-depth study of biology course using labs and student-initiated activities as the primary means of transmitting information.
Biology AP Recommended for students interested in medicine or other health-related careers, and science majors. Prerequisites-biology & chemistry
Marine Science Study of organisms that live in or near the ocean.
Environmental Science Focuses on the basic principles of ecology with special attention given to the impact of human activities on the environment.
Anatomy and Physiology Honors Study of structure and functions of the various organ systems of the human body. Recommended for health related careers.
Chemistry in the Community Course is developed by the American Chemical Society. Course contains a greater number and variety of student-oriented activities and less emphasis on mathematics. Does not meet chemistry requirement for Advanced Academic Diploma.
Chemistry Lab course designed to help students see how chemical principals and concepts are developed from experimental observations and data.
Chemistry Honors Regular chemistry with an emphasis on mathematical problem solving skills, in-depth exploration of kinetics, thermodynamics, equilibrium, and independent study.
Chemistry AP Students should attain an understanding of fundamentals and reasonable competence in dealing with chemical problems.
Chemistry 111/112 - Duel Enrollment Duel Enrollment to Jefferson State Community College. See counselors for enrollment requirements.
Physics Develop critical thinking skills of students and prepare them for the technical workplace as well as college. Some topics covered are motion, forces, momentum, energy, etc.
Physics Honors Designed to prepare students for college level study.
Physics AP Includes topics in classic and modern physics.
Physics I AP Course focuses on Newton's laws of motion, work, energy, momentum, circular motion, and oscillations.
Biotechnology: An Introduction to Forensic Science Creates a link between biology, chemistry, biotechnology, and physics. Advanced level laboratory techniques will be utilized in instruction.

AP Classes are eligible for participation on the National Advanced Placement Exam for the specified subject matter.
